We’ve partnered with Forecastr to deliver startup-specific financial modelling for Australian founders, combining powerful forecasting software with hands-on CFO support to drive confident planning, fundraising and growth across every stage.

We’re pleased to announce that Standard Ledger has partnered with Forecastr, a leading financial modelling platform built specifically for startups. As Forecastr’s regional implementation partner, we’ll be bringing their forecasting software to Australian founders – backed by hands-on support from the Standard Ledger team.

This partnership combines Forecastr’s purpose-built technology with Standard Ledger’s on-the-ground financial expertise to give early-stage founders better tools for financial planning, fundraising, and cash flow management.

What’s Changing

Forecastr has officially entered the Australian market through this partnership. That means Aussie founders now have access to their forecasting platform, implemented and supported by Standard Ledger’s team of finance experts.

In practical terms, you’ll get access to:

  • Startup-specific forecasting templates – Financial models designed around how startups actually operate, not generic business templates retrofitted for your needs.
  • Dynamic dashboards and collaboration tools – Real-time visibility into your metrics, runway, and projections. Share forecasts with investors or advisors without version control chaos.
  • Customised financial modelling – Standard Ledger will work with you to build models that reflect your actual business model, revenue streams, and growth plans.
  • Local CFO support – The Standard Ledger team will help you to interpret the data, build realistic projections, and use these insights to make better strategic decisions.

Why This Partnership Makes Sense

“We’re thrilled to start supporting more Australian founders through Standard Ledger,” said Steven Plappert, CEO and Co-founder of Forecastr. “Remco and his team share our commitment to empowering startups and small businesses with practical, proactive finance. Together, we’ll help more founders gain real financial clarity – backed by expert support on the ground.”

We’ve been working with Australian startups for years, and the same challenge comes up repeatedly: founders know they need solid financial models – particularly when raising capital – but building accurate forecasts whilst running a startup is genuinely difficult.

Most founders end up either building models from scratch (time-consuming and error-prone) or working with generic templates that don’t quite fit their business reality. Neither option is ideal when you’re trying to project revenue growth, manage burn rate, or prepare for investor due diligence.

The Gap Between Traction and Financial Planning

Early traction is exciting. You’ve found product-market fit, you’re seeing growth, maybe you’re ready to raise your next round. But translating that momentum into a credible long-term financial plan? That’s where things get complicated.

Investors want to see that you understand your unit economics, can project realistic growth across multiple scenarios, and know exactly how long your cash will last under different assumptions. More importantly, you need that clarity to make informed decisions about hiring, product investment, and growth strategy.

“Startups often struggle to translate early traction into a credible long-term financial plan,” said Remco Marcelis, Managing Director of Standard Ledger. “By adding Forecastr to our toolkit, we can build financial models that give founders short-term control and long-term clarity for scalable growth. It’s a strong complement to our existing services and a major win for the startup community.”

How It Works in Practice

The partnership pairs modern financial technology with seasoned CFO guidance. You get robust financial planning capability without the cost of hiring a full-time finance lead.

The Standard Ledger team will work with you to:

  • Build customised financial models based on your business model and growth stage
  • Create accurate projections for revenue, expenses, and cash flow across multiple scenarios
  • Set up dashboards that track the metrics that matter for your stage and industry
  • Provide ongoing fractional CFO support to help you use these insights strategically

The platform handles the technical heavy lifting – templates, calculations, version control. At Standard Ledger, our team provides the context, industry knowledge, and strategic guidance to make sure your models are both accurate and actionable.
