Like many startups, ours was born from a moment of clarity. For our co-founder, Remco, it came from living through the dot-com bubble and learning the value of financial knowledge for founders.
When the time came to start his own business, he vowed to create a service that helped more entrepreneurs succeed through better financial understanding and management.
He found the right people and tech to do it and we now support hundreds of startups from their original base of Australia as they’ve grown to Canada, the US, the UK and New Zealand.

Our co-founder Remco Marcelis lived through the dot-com bubble. The lesson? Founders who understood their finances had a much better shot at success.
When it came time to start his own business in 2014, he knew exactly what was needed: accounting services designed for startups, not retrofitted from traditional practice. Services that took the daily grind off founders’ hands. Services that scaled as companies grew.
He found the right people and the right tech. We built what we wished had existed. We now support hundreds of startups across the UK, Australia, Canada, the US, New Zealand and beyond.

Remco
Co-founder + CFO
Remco has worked with startups and fast-growing SMEs as a CFO for about 15 years, following four years in venture capital and 10 years in multinational consulting/services firms. He’s also our co-founder and CEO, so he knows a thing or two about running a business.
Michael
Co-founder + CFO
Mike is a uniquely skilled CFO with experience in big accounting firms and startups. His knowledge of tax structuring and financial modelling helps our startup clients expand and he has supported many through capital raising. He’s also our co-founder, along with Remco.
Polly
Senior Financial Analyst
Polly is a Chartered Accountant with a background in FP&A, supporting global teams in financial services. She helps founders understand their numbers, bringing expertise in forecasting, budgeting and adaptable communication.
Anne
Senior Analyst
As an experienced financial modeller and team lead, Anne works with our clients to build financial forecasts that provide clear operational visibility and key insights. If there’s something specific you need to know about your finances, Anne is your person.
Caicy
Team Lead
Caicy is an integral part of our team, supporting our bookkeeping, tax, accounting and CFO services. She works with our accounting clients, and leads our back-office support team to run smoother than a warm knife through butter.

Kirsten is a financial all-rounder with experience in audit and capital markets and a passion for using numbers to drive growth and shake up the status quo. That’s why she joined our team and why she’ll be an asset to yours.
Our transparent approach
Transparency is more than just a word to us. We’ve made our services as fair and transparent as possible so you know what things will cost, upfront. No hidden costs, unexpected bills or lock-ins. We have a Fair Use Policy for our monthly fixed-price services. Every quarter, we review how much you’re using the service to see if it still fits. If it doesn’t, we talk to you about what needs to change moving forward. Sound fair?
